Changes to the distribution of disposable packaging at mass events

In order to reduce the amount of waste across Lithuania, amendments to the Law on Packaging and Packaging Waste Management of the Republic of Lithuania on disposable packaging came into force on 1 May 2025.

According to the new changes to the law, a deposit fee of EUR 0.20 will be charged for each single-use plastic container at mass events. This includes containers for snacks, hot and cold drinks and cocktails - with or without lids.
